A computer engineer by profession, he started his career in 1999 in the field of geographic Information Systems (GIS) in both the public and private sector.
He has taken part as a speaker in different conferences such as Geotourism Congress 2009 in National Geographic (Washington DC), Educational Travel Conference 2010 (Rhode Island) and as a member of the scientific committee of the SIG Free Software Meetings (Girona).
On a business stay in Canada he discovered the outdoor environment of British Columbia and began to develop as a hobby what would later become the Wikiloc platform, a place to share outdoor routes around the world.
Wikiloc is now a community formed by millions of outdoor enthusiasts with more than 4 million routes in 190 countries.
Wikiloc has been awarded by companies of the like of Google, National Geographic and Ashoka Changemakers.Jordi Ramot is a passionate lover of mountain skiing, mountain bike and trail running, and has won extreme endurance competitions such as the Celestrail 2014 (Andorra Ultra Trail Vallnord).
